Private Thyroid Blood Test UK
A thyroid blood profile measuring TSH, T3, T4 and thyroid antibodies, taken by a clinician at your home or workplace. From £124.99 with the blood draw included.
Short answer: our private thyroid blood test is a venous blood draw that looks at thyroid hormones and thyroid antibodies (TSH, T3, T4 and antibodies). It costs £124.99 including the blood draw, samples are processed by Randox laboratories and results usually take around 72 hours. A visit fee applies depending on your area. Prices checked October 2026.
What does a thyroid blood test measure?
The thyroid is a small gland in the neck that produces hormones involved in the body's metabolism. A thyroid profile looks at:
- TSH (thyroid-stimulating hormone), the signal from the pituitary gland that tells the thyroid how much hormone to make.
- T4 and T3, the thyroid hormones themselves.
- Thyroid antibodies, which can show whether the immune system is acting on the thyroid.
Why do people test their thyroid?
People often look at thyroid function when they have persistent tiredness, changes in weight, feeling unusually cold or changes in mood or concentration. These symptoms have many possible causes, so a thyroid test is one piece of information to discuss with a clinician rather than an answer on its own.
