Allergy Complete Blood Test — 62 Allergens + Total IgE

£369.00

The Allergy Complete Blood Test is our broadest allergy panel, checking 62 allergens plus total IgE (63 markers) in one blood sample. It covers foods, nuts, seafood, grains, animals, dust mites, moulds and yeasts, trees, grasses and weeds.

The test looks for IgE antibodies, the type of antibody involved in many allergic reactions, to each allergen. It suits people with unexplained or mixed reactions who want a wide look in one go.

Frequently asked questions

How long do allergy test results take?

Results are returned within 3 to 5 working days.

Does a positive result mean I have an allergy?

Not necessarily. An IgE result shows sensitisation, which means your immune system has made antibodies to a substance. With a wide panel, some positives may not cause any symptoms, so results are interpreted alongside your history.

Can I take antihistamines before the test?

Blood tests for specific IgE are not normally affected by antihistamines, unlike skin prick tests. Tell us what you take when you book.

Does this test check for food intolerance?

No. It measures IgE antibodies linked to allergy, not intolerances.

Does a Candida result mean I have a Candida infection?

No. A Candida albicans IgE result shows sensitisation to it. It does not diagnose a Candida infection or overgrowth.

Should I stop eating a food if my result is positive?

Do not cut out foods, particularly for children, without advice from a clinician. A positive result alone does not show that a food is causing your symptoms.

Good to know

This test measures allergen-specific IgE antibodies in your blood and does not diagnose an allergy on its own. It does not replace care from your GP. If you have had a severe reaction, such as difficulty breathing, swelling of the face or throat, or collapse, seek emergency help. See our Privacy Policy for how we handle your health information.
